Liza Goodell
Liza Goodell is responsible for logistics and operations of Spiral Q’s education programs, productions, and parades. Goodell provides technical expertise and training to Spiral Q artists, interns, and volunteers. An accomplished puppeteer and parade artist, she brings 18 years of puppet and parade making experience and has managed over 27 parades with Spiral Q. For the last 6 years, she has been an invited guest artist at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Parade the Circle Celebration, designing, building, and leading parade performance ensembles for audiences of nearly 60,000. Goodell has worked in Trinidad and Tobago where she assisted in creating costumes, masks, and giant puppets for award-winning Carnival bands The Washing and Buccoo.com. Her masks and puppets have been shown in museums (Guggenheim, Rosenbach, and Cleveland Museum of Art) and she has collaborated with video artist Danny Perez and several bands (Animal Collective, Gemini Wolf, Emperor X.) Goodell holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from American University in Washington D.C.
