Jennifer Turnbull
Jennifer Turnbull is responsible for implementation of SPARQ Schools, coordinating logistics and operations of Spiral Q’s school partnerships, hiring, training and supervision of teaching artists and program assistants. An accomplished dance, theater and movement artist who has worked in Spiral Q’s education and community based programs since 2008 as a program associate, teaching artist, community liaison, and performing artist, Turnbull balances a broad range of organizational, artistic, teaching, and community relations experience to her work at Spiral Q. With training in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop and West African dance, Turnbull received at BA from Tufts University in 2002 and has taught at Dance Center of Westchester, NY, at the Barnes Foundation and independently, developing movement curriculum weaving concepts of academic subjects and sustainability into the bodies of her students. Turnbull currently collaborates within two mixed media & discipline performance-collectives: BareTeeth and SWARM. Recent projects include performances in “Falling Queens” in New York City and “A Stick and Stone” in Providence, New York and Philadelphia and choreography of “Convergence” with the Requisite Movers for Wellspring in Philadelphia.
